General Ideas

  • Rent Paddleboard, kayaks, bike, snowboards, and monster paddle boards at Adventure Mystic and paddle around the Mystic River and Seaport! Or go for the powered version and rent a 2-seater boat that goes up to 30 MPH (no boat license required) for a 3-hour guided tour ($150 per person) or 1-hour ($90 per person) open water adventure!
  • Try a swing on a flying trapeze at Fearless Flyers Academy in Mystic, CT @ Fields of Fire. Open swing sat 1-4p ($10 for 1 swing, $25 for 3). They also offer trapeze classes for $60/class and aerial classes (trampoline & more) for $30/class.  Foxwoods also has a 350ft tall 1/4 mile long zipline you can rip down, hitting 60mph. Its open 12p to 6p and tix are $59. Powder Ridge Mountain in Middlefield, CT also has a zip line for $12. Hit the Aerial Park at Fields of Fire in Mystic, CT to climb through 5 different aerial course & zip lines ($59 for 3 hrs of climbing). Book an Evening session to go Night Climbing under the lights! If you can’t get enough night climbing, zip on over to Storrs Adventure park for 2 hrs of light guided night climbing through the largest forest park in CT! Tix are $33 for night climbing or $49 for 3 hrs of day climbing.
  • Go Ice Skating year round at the Norwich Ice Rink for $12 w/ $7 skate rental. Check Website for open skate times. Generally its Sun to Fri 1:15p to 3:15p, Fri 7p to 8:30p for laser skate, and Sat 3:30p to 6:30p .
  • Crush the 60′ high adventure ropes course with ziplines, 40,000 watts of sound and lighting  at the Jordan Furniture in New Haven, CT.  Tix are $20/1hr booked online or $25 walk in, or opt for 2 hrs for $30 online / 37.50 walk in.  Open Mon -Thurs, 10a – 7p, Fri – Sat 10a- 8p, & Sun 11a -6p.
  • Go climbing at:
    •  Stone Age Rock Gym w/ indoor or outdoor lessons in Manchester, CT . Day pass is $22 +$5 gear rental or New Climber lesson for $30, membership gets you 24/7 access. Open Tues, Thurs,& Fri 4p to 10p, Sat 10a to 10p, & Sun 10a to 6p. Outdoor lessons are by reservation for $160 for 4hr half day, and 8hr ($260) and multi day course ($595) available.
    • Central Rock Gym in Glastonbury, CT, Day Pass is $25 + $5 rental. Intro to belay class is $50, Staff Belay is $40/hr Bouldering and Climbing available. Open Mon to Fri 12p- 9:30p, Sat to Sun 9a -9p
    • Prime Climb in Wallingford, CT. Reservation required. Day passes are $16 +$7 rental for prime Climb, $20 + $5 rental for Mountain Fun. Belay lessons are $35 (certain days). Hours are Mon to Fri 1p – 9p, Sat 12p to 8p, Sun 12p-8p. Mountain Fun hours are Thurs to Sun 12p to 6p. Note Prime Climb is indoor climbing/bouldering, mountain fun is beginner/introductory w/ auto-belay devices .
    • City Climb in New Haven, CT. Reservations required for classes. Day passes are $16 + $8 rental. Intro to climbing w/ staff belay is $30 for 1 hr. Open Mon to Fri 2p to 10p & Sat to Sun 10a to 8p.
    • Central Rock Gym in Warwick, RI. Day Pass is $20 + $8 rental. Intro to belay class is $50, Bouldering and Climbing available. Open Mon to Fri 11a – 10p, Sat to Sun 9a -9p
  • Bring or Rent a Mountain bike & use the lift and trails at Powder Ridge Mountain in Middlefield, CT, open Thurs thru Sun. Bike rentals are $65-$95 & park passes are $32. While you’re there ride the zip line for $12, play disc golf for $7 or cruise around the pond for an hr in an electric kayak, fun boat, kayak, or paddle bike for $5-$10. Rip it down the summer tubing slide for $8!!
  • Ride a 8-mile 2-seater Rail Bike on the Essex Rail line, then optionally pair it with a Steam train/Riverboat combo Ride. Book in advance for $75 for 2 -seater rail car or $125 for the combo.
  • Take a 1 hr flight lesson that is 30 mins on the ground, 30 mins in the air learning to take off, climb, & land a plane @ Avia Flight Academy in Stratford, CT. Tix are $299.
  • Put your Gumshoeing skills to the test at the outdoor trail based escape room @ Fields of Fire in Mystic CT. Book in advance for 1-5 people ($89 for the first 2 people + 19 pp up to 5 people). Try a VR escape room @ Xperiment VR for $44 @ The Hawley Lane Mall in Trumbull, CT.
  • Go up to the top of the Harbor Pequot Lighthouse and take in the spectacular views and learn about the history of the lighthouse (Sat & Sun 10a to 12p, $35/pp).
